Distinguished guests, Master Thuan Duc Nguyen, Master Ngoc Hai Nguyen and fellow members of U.H.B.E.
It is a privilege and pleasure to be here with all of you this evening, recognizing such an important milestone in the history of our discipline.
It is not by chance that U.H.B.E. made its spiritual home in the United States of America some 14 years ago. This nation as a democracy provides citizens with a level of freedom, opportunities for education, work and prosperity, which is well known and respected worldwide. Your nation has been built by immigrants coming here from far and wide over several hundred years of history. In this multicultural diversity, the best of Americans are viewed as outgoing and progressive. Your country values and promotes leadership, excellence and innovation.
These ideals and characteristics of the United States of America have provided a good fit, and are compatible with the teachings of our Founder Grand Master Dasira Narada, and for the development of U.H.B.E. Centers here in North America. This is a fortunate growing partnership for our emerging organization and for the North American, and now worldwide, public whom we serve.
One of the things that makes U.H.B.E. so special to everyone here is its universality and accessibility. Gender, race, religion, language, and educational level have no bearing whatsoever on who takes a beginner level class. Rich or poor, anyone who wants to learn, who has an affinity for these teachings, may learn from our precious Masters. The classes are free. There is no profit to be made. You can be a good Buddhist, Muslim, Christian or Jew and still practice the U.H.B.E. discipline. The courses are organized by the generous and good hearted efforts of the existing members on a voluntary basis. We all donate our time, energy and resources to help new students in the same way we were helped and continue to be helped in our meditation training. It is a beautiful and wonderful thing to receive help and give help and support when we all need it. We all benefit from this mutual giving and receiving in so many important ways.
U.H.B.E. is also special and unique because the teachings of the Grand Master Dasira Narada are so profoundly comprehensive and innovative. U.H.B.E. includes a sophisticated system of energy techniques for treating and removing illness, as well as enhancing and maintaining physical health even while we are aging and being challenged by the wear and tear of our daily busy lives. The techniques of this system are completely innovative. I have never seen or learned anything like this in my 23 years as a Medical Doctor, nor have I seen anything of this caliber in my years of studying ancient systems of healing or new systems of energy medicine. What makes U.H.B.E. so exciting and fascinating is that the teachings enable us to go to the deepest roots of illness, which is where the deepest source of healing is to be found. The results are astonishing, powerful and remarkable. Our next speaker, Dr. Comlan Amouzou from Montreal, Canada shares my enthusiasm. We have both seen, like the rest of the U.H.B.E. membership, some impressive successes which include treating people with cancer in our own Centers.
The most important and unique dimension of U.H.B.E. lies in the contribution it makes in assisting each of us in our spiritual health and well being. Altruistic love and service to humanity is the foundation and mainstay of spiritual cultivation. However U.H.B.E. members do not attempt to develop themselves spiritually cut off from the rest of society. We remain fully engaged as active participating citizens contributing to our local, national and global community. Our teachers Master Thuận and Cô Hải have talked about some of the spiritual aspects of our evolutionary journey this evening. They themselves set the highest example to us all in their constant sacrifices of time, energy and resources to attend to each of us as their students and to attend to the growth and development of the Meditation Centers. They are the only true representatives of the Founder Grand Master. As lineage teachers, Master Thuận and Cô Hải explain and expound the many layers of spiritual meaning of the Grand Master’s Dharma. They do this work in the most completely virtuous way. I am, like all of you, honoured to be their students. Now and in the future, the greatest respect and appreciation we can show them as disciples is to continue our personal spiritual cultivation working together in moral harmony as we develop the infrastructure of support for Dasira Narada’s teachings. The future is bright and there is a lot of work to do! By cultivating the membership and the leadership within each center, by continuing the translation work of the teachings into the many different languages as our growing translation team is already doing, by owning or building our own Meditation Centers, and by developing healthy, respectful partnerships with those in our governments and social institutions within our communities, we hope to alleviate the suffering of others as we eliminate our own. As we ascend spiritually, we hope that in the long future ahead that we remain focused on the positive transformation that must come first from within ourselves. Then only will the work that we do to facilitate the propagation of our Founder Grand Masters unique and sacred teachings to eventually transform our world into a place of peace.
We are grateful to the government officials here tonight who are recognizing the value of Thầy and Cô’s work as the true representatives of Dasira Narada’s teachings. We are grateful to the U.H.B.E. members here in California who have made some important steps in developing this infrastructure of support which will sustain and protect the Dharma for generations to come. We, as your U.H.B.E. family, deeply appreciate what each of you has done for all of us.
Thank you very, very much.
