It is an honor for me to participate in this meeting. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Master Nguyen Thuan and Co Hai for inviting me, to thank the Orange County UHBE meditation Centre and all the volunteers for their hospitality and for a job well done in organizing this wonderful evening.

When I was asked by the organizers to give a speech, I asked myself: “oh my God, what am I going to say? I did not build enough virtue to see things, I am not perfect enough to say things, and I don’t have enough wisdom to carry on a message on a spiritual journey. So forgive me if what I would say will not fit the purpose and the expectations of this plenary meeting. Anyway, I am happy to participate in this UHBE association’s brainstorming.

I joined the UHBE meditation in 2007in Montreal. I have been invited by my Cambodian friend, M. Yun Bunkorn. When I registered the first time for level 1-2 class, I didn’t know too much about this meditation.

I joined the UHBE meditation because I am in a period of my existence where the search for change in my everyday life and the search for spirituality became obvious.

As every American ordinary middle class worker, I’m living in a world which development model is based only on a permanent economic growth and consumption. You and me are only consumers. I wake up every morning, I go to work, I try to work hard to accumulate material wealth in order to provide myself and my family a decent life. The accumulation of material goods has become the meaning of my existence. Two years ago when the world economy has collapsed, many workers has lost their jobs, their homes and became vulnerable. Last year, in a Quebec small city, a couple, a man and woman, both lost their job the same day. When they arrived home, they decided to kill themselves and their two children, because life was hard, unfair and they didn’t want their children to live in such terrible world. This couple’s behaviour was incomprehensible.

People were shocked and didn’t understand their gesture of despondency.

Some people condemn them. Others didn’t. But a question still remains?Why did they do that?After all this happening, after so much miseries in the world, time has come, to start asking ourselves this question: “to be or to have?”When joined the UHBE meditation and teaching I have decided to be, that is to find the way to overcome my fears, my anxiety, to build my internal identity.

As an African, my life is heavily influenced by the paradigm of the visible world (nature and the community) and the forces of the invisible world (ancestors and all allies of the spiritual world). The rituals are precious moments through which the visible and the invisible world come together. Rituals are important in the african culture. UHBE teaching guides us through a spiritual journey.Because of my African background I can easily understand and apprehend Dasira Narada’s teaching.

I joined the UHBE teaching because it is not a sect or a religion UHBE is opened to all continents, all cultures, all human races and all beliefs. Christians, Buddhists, Jews, Muslims, Hindus are welcome.

The UHBE meditation is about treating illness. As a physician the UHBE teaching gives me a new perspective to approach illness and death.

After level 2, I have really started to experience this meditation. I’m fascinated to use universal human body energy to treat myself by meditating and to treat others.

Early on, the scientist in me, had apprehended the meaning of this meditation technique and measured the positive impact of it.I have used and continue to use the UHBE technique to help people in my everyday practice.

Vertigo, Chest pain, Asthma, High blood pressure, allergia, Abdominal pain, sprains, haemorrhage…. I have experienced this technique in every sort of situation.After the treatment, people feel relieved and happy. They are positively impressed and ask all the same question: What is it about? Where did you learn this technique?My answer always is the same: “This is about Universal human body energy. The UHBE is based on Dasira Narada’s technique and teaching.

If you want to know more, come to our meditation centre.”-Can we find anything on Internet about this technique and teaching? Ask some people.-NO, nothing is on Internet. If you are interested to learn about this, the Master will open a level 1-2 class in June.This is the kind of conversation I used to have with some of my patients.

What are the future prospects of the UHBE?

Building the future of UHBE is a big task for the UHBE faculty members and all members. In a short period of time, the spreading of UHBE centres over the world is phenomenal. To hold one’s course the UHBE association needs to have a superordinate goal (vision) and to share that vision with others worldwide. The superordinate goal is Dasira Narada’s vision of a world of peace, virtue, wisdom and freedom. The vision today is carried by Master Nguyen Thuan and Co Hai. To shape and articulate the vision a staff of skilled and motivated people is necessary. UHBE needs to build a solid organization with a strong management system and a communication system.

Many UHBE centres have been opened in different places all over the world. UHBE needs to build a strong organization with solid structure to back up and support the spiritual teaching. Different models of structure can be used.Seattle UHBE Association is the Headquarter for all UHBE centres in the world. It is the international UHBE association. We have each country’s Chapter of UHBE and different UHBE centres within a country.

Each country will have one representative and several centres coordinators.E.g. Canada’s UHBE Association with its different centres (Calgary UHBE centre, Vancouver UHBE Centre, Ottawa UHBE Centre, Toronto UHBE centre, Montreal UHBE centre)….A strong organization with a solid structure allows all UHBE centres to be under an integrated command structure of the Seattle UHBE Headquarter.

A spiritual staff under the strong and charismatic leadership of Master Nguyen Duc Thuan and Co Hai is needed. At the head of each country, each centre, we will have a member of the spiritual’s staff who will play the role of Country Supervisor and Centre’s Coordinator. The spiritual staff’s task is the spiritual teaching, the protection of the meditation techniques and the spiritual coordination of the UHBE centres worldwide.

In every UHBE centre, we need a strong management staff with amanagement board with skilled and motivated members of different professional and cultural background.The management board has the role to manage the centre, to provide the financial support (fundraisings) and to organize different events.

Our meditation is based on merit and not on how much money a member can donate. But we still need money to accomplish Dasira Narada’s mission.

Today, UHBE association is growing rapidly. More and more centres are to be opened and the need of having an organized financial planning will become a reality. Each centre will be responsible for its own financial planning and fundraisings. Once a year a national fundraising activity will be organized by each country centres and all the donations for this special activity will be sent to the headquarter in Seattle to support the spiritual teaching worldwide.

We must use our imagination and all the modern marketing tools to organize a financial security for our centres.Specific discussions or meetings, on this specific issue, must be organized.

Each centre must hold a strong and valid membership listing.Every member of UHBE meditation must be listed in a directory.This will allow members from different centres to network and reach out.Holding a membership in good standing is important for a financial planning of our centres and for the UHBE community building.There is a number of drop-out in many centres. Perhaps, some members just need somebody to give them hand, to accompany them.

The UHBE association must organize a biannual convention .This convention will allow members from all countries and centres to gather and debate on issues relevant to the UHBE association improvements.

The UHBE association must create a UHBE research centre with an information unit for recovery cases. In the past, studies and research have been published by American universities on the impact of the meditation on the physical and mental well-being.The UHBE research Centre will be an institution created by the UHBE association. It is a place where we will experience the spiritual teaching and the UHBE treatment technique. Statistics and evidences can be held on the impact of the UHBE spiritual teaching and meditation technique on public health. An information unit will work on recovery cases after UHBE treatment, especially on patients with heavy illnesses who have been left behind by the Health care system. The UHBE research centre will establish partnership with universities and medical institutions in the world by organizing open door sessions and inviting scientists, Health care authorities, care givers and the public to learn about UHBE spiritual teaching and meditation technique.

To build a strong UHBE community we need to improve the communication between members from each centre, from different centres and between the faculty (staff) members and ordinary members. Which communication system to use? Telephone, Internet,Website, Facebook, Twitter? Every choice will depend of UHBE communication strategy.

For its expansion worldwide, the UHBE association must be present in certain regions. Africa, China, India. The next continent where the UHBE association must open centres is Africa. Africa is a place of joy and happiness. It is also a place of sufferings. Bringing UHBE to Africa will help spreading Dasira Narada’s teaching to cultivate compassion, search for the universal Truth, freedom, justice, and unconditional love. This will represent a new challenge for the UHBE teaching in a continent where millions of people are living under dictatorships, under poverty. In Africa conflicts, wars and negative karmas are still present. Africa will be the best place were UHBE meditation can be implemented and can play a big role in helping mankind.

For all this to happen, we dare take the risk. We have to define ourselves before others define us. The UHBE teaching is a proof of recognition of Dasira Narada’s commitment to help mankind and a legacy for future generations.
